Getting Started

New to PieMail? Start here.

What is PieMail?

PieMail is an online service that prints, stamps, and mails physical letters for you. Type a message or upload a PDF, enter a recipient address, pay per piece, and we drop your letter in the mail via USPS First Class — usually within one business day.

Do I need an account to send a letter?

No. You can send mail as a guest. Creating a free account is optional and unlocks order history in your dashboard so you can re-send to past recipients or track previous letters.

Where is PieMail available?

PieMail mails letters from the United States to addresses in all 50 US states. International recipients are not currently supported, but you can send from anywhere in the world — all you need is a browser.

How long does it take to send a letter?

Less than 60 seconds from typing your message to checkout. We handle every step after that — printing, folding, stamping, and dropping it in the USPS system within one business day.

Do I need a printer?

No. PieMail does all the printing on quality paper at our mailing partner's facility. You don't need a printer, paper, envelopes, or stamps.

Sending Mail

How the send process works.

How do I send a letter?

Visit /send, choose between typing a message or uploading a PDF, pick your format (color, sides), enter the recipient address, and pay with a card. We handle the rest.

Can I upload a PDF instead of typing?

Yes. Upload any PDF up to 10 pages. We'll print it in the format you choose (B&W or color, single- or double-sided) and mail it for you.

Can I send multiple letters at once?

Today, each letter is a separate order. Bulk and volume sending is on our roadmap — contact hello@piemail.online if you have a specific use case.

Can I include a return address?

Yes. You can add a return address during the send flow. If you don't, we use a PieMail return address so any undeliverable mail comes back to us.

Can I send a letter on someone else's behalf?

Yes — the return address can be anyone you specify. You're responsible for ensuring you have permission to send mail on someone else's behalf.

Pricing & Payment

Honest, pay-per-piece pricing.

How much does a letter cost?

B&W letters start at $1.85 for the first page and $0.14 per additional page. Color letters are $2.11 for the first page and $0.30 per additional page. Letters of 7 or more pages add a $3.00 large-letter surcharge to cover the bigger envelope. Postage is always included.

Are there any subscription fees?

No. PieMail is strictly pay-per-piece. There are no monthly fees, account fees, or hidden charges.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards via Stripe — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover. Payments are PCI-compliant and we never store your card details.

Can I get a refund?

If your order is canceled or rejected before printing, you'll receive a full refund. Once a letter is printed and handed to USPS, refunds are not available.

Document Specifications

What we can print and how.

What paper do you use?

Standard 8.5 × 11 inch white paper, suitable for legal, business, and personal correspondence.

What file formats can I upload?

PDF only. If you have a Word or Google Doc, export it as a PDF first to ensure formatting stays intact.

Is there a page limit?

Letters can be up to 10 pages. If you need more pages, contact us at hello@piemail.online.

What envelope sizes do you offer?

All letters ship in a standard #10 business envelope (4.125 × 9.5 inches). Additional sizes are on our roadmap.

Can I print in color?

Yes. Choose Color in the Format step of the send flow — both single-sided and double-sided are available.

Can I print double-sided?

Yes. Double-sided saves paper and is available for both B&W and color letters at the same price as single-sided.

Delivery & Tracking

How your letter gets there.

How long does delivery take?

Most letters arrive in 1–5 business days via USPS First Class. We print and post your letter within one business day of your order.

Can I track my letter?

Yes. Every letter includes USPS tracking. You'll receive a tracking number after we post it, and your dashboard updates as your letter moves through the mail system.

What if the address is wrong?

We verify every address against the live USPS database before printing. If it can't be verified, you'll be prompted to correct it before payment — no charge if the address fails verification.

What if my letter is lost or undeliverable?

If USPS marks a letter undeliverable, it's returned to our facility. If a tracked letter is lost in transit, contact support@piemail.online and we'll work with USPS to resolve it.

Do you offer Certified Mail or Priority Mail?

Not yet — all letters currently ship USPS First Class with tracking included. Certified Mail and other speeds are on our roadmap.

Privacy & Security

How we protect your letters.

Is my letter secure?

Yes. Letter contents are encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. We only retain them long enough to print and mail your letter, then they're deleted from our servers.

Who can see my letter?

Only the automated systems that print and address your envelope. No human at PieMail reads your letter contents unless required to resolve a specific issue you report.

Do you sell my data?

Never. We don't sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing. See our /privacy policy for full details.

Is my payment information stored?

No. Payments are processed entirely by Stripe in a PCI-DSS Level 1 environment. PieMail never sees or stores your full card number.
